You know, I never really thought about it, but now that you got the idea in my head, I can say with absolutely certainty that you are absolutely right about him. He’d love reading comics because they aren’t as big and boring as the books Cassia loves to read. Plus, none resignate quite like his favorite, the X-Men.

He loves to read about people (‘mutants’) being outside of society, yet strong. He wishes he had others that shared his problems of being hybrid beyond just Cassia, but he has to make due with imagination and his comics.

Sure, there are sort of comics from other species, but humans are the best at it and so that’s why he sticks to it. While he may try out other characters and stories (his second favorite being Batman) he always comes back to X-Men. He’s probably read everyone out there, specifically making mom tell him what some human words mean because he hasn’t learned the definition to it yet in his English lessons.

I HC, now that you got this idea in my head, that he learns about comics from Joker and James. James initially shows him comics, but Joker steps in and shows Damocles that he’d definitely love X-Men. He’s right too, but only because he knows Damocles so well after living so close to the family. Had James not been off doing his own thing, he wouldn’t have hesitated to do the same.
