It means so much to hear from readers, I absolutely thrive off of hearing from you guys. I’m so happy you’re liking Nocturni. I wasn’t sure how well it’d be received because of it’s highly supernatural take. I’m sure people see ‘vampire’ and automatically think of the cliches or – god forbid – Twilight. I decided to write it as a mostly self-fulfilling fic because I’ve had this idea for quite some time, but never put it to paper.
I’m scared for Garrus, too, and I know what’s coming, but he’ll pull through. The guy needs to learn to stop being so hot headed and heed a stronger warrior than him’s warnings. Even if Nihlus made it sound ridiculous – and I wouldn’t believe half of what he said – I think Garrus should have at least considered that there’s someone out there stronger than he’ll give credit. Oh well, looks like he’s going to learn that pretty damn quick, if in a very painful way.
Jai not being the ‘Commander Shepard’ we all know was a new concept I’ve been playing with. I get that we all want Shepard to be the hero the galaxy needs, but it didn’t quite feel right to have that in this situation. A stable Commander Shepard wouldn’t find themselves on Omega, but one with nowhere else to turn? And with demons of her own? I saw that as a better way to develop her character.
All three of these characters are flawed and need each other. It’s just going to take the idiots a while to realize that.
(I’m also really happy that Nihlus and Garrus read well. They’re my grumps, but I love them in the overall feeling of this fic)

Aeson
4. What secrets do they keep, untold to anyone?
Untold to anyone, Aeson holds a bit of frustration towards his father. Sure, his dad has paid for his mistakes, but Aeson cannot understand how someone would betray people as close as family. If he looks at his own situation, he could never betray the people he knows, especially Damocles (even before they have an official relationship) so he still doesn’t have complete understanding for his father.
However, he does not use it against his dad. He understands it’s been years and his father has to deal with the truth every time he looks in the mirror. Aeson also doesn’t see that he has a right to say anything given that he wasn’t there. Plus, he absolutely loves his father, meaning he can live with what his dad did even if he doesn’t agree or completely understand.
15. What was a turning point in their life?
Aeson’s life turned around when Damocles stood up for him. Sure, he had everyone as a type of extended family, but Damocles of all people stood before bullies to Aeson’s defense even when Damo had his own problems. He looked up to Damo like a hero and still does, even if he knows Damocles better as a person with faults and feelings.
Saren
8. Tell me about them in a modern AU
I’m going to take this as a non-Reaper, plain Jane AU because I can’t get onboard with humanizing alien/monster/robotic characters. And, considering the science behind it, we couldn’t really have first contact with turians right now in time.
So, considering a non-Reaper, plain Jane situation, I’d say Saren wouldn’t even exist. I know, I know, that doesn’t count, so I’ll say there’d be different circumstances. Perhaps he’d be a bastard child of Arcanus’ and Arcanus takes him under his wing once they reconnect. They’d still be pretty out of sorts, but I think Saren would probably work with tech, maybe IT or something.
