3. What’s your favorite line of narration?
I don’t have all the lines off the top of my head, but I think my favorite of the ones I can remember is her talking about his food:
“More like they like their food still breathing and trying to escape their plate."
9. Were there any alternate versions of this fic?
Actually, there was! It involved them knowing each other as kids – around teenage years – and her on the Citadel somehow (I was actually going to change her background even though I have always been a fan of Earthborn). They lost contact when he went into basic and she eventually in her own bootcamp.
There was also one that was completely AU and a First Contact fic before the events of the main games, so altering the timeline. It would have been a bit of forbidden love and they married right after peace was made and they rejoined again. All in secret of course!
These were set aside because I admit that they seemed like a huge undertaking. I had never imagined Parable would get as big as it did or even expand into the games, if I’m honest.
