22, 24 and 27 for ocs of choice please :)

I know I haven’t fleshed out all the OCs that will appear in Efflux, but I’ll answer for those I’ve been shoving in people’s faces XD

22. Likes dragons

This would actually be both of the twins. Their favorite movies are from the Lord of the Rings collection. By their time, I’m sure there’s tons more, but the movies we all know where the first things they saw and they’ve been fans ever since, each with their own reasons. That led to them looking into more fantasy-themed media and dragons came hand in hand with that.

Cassia likes them because of how interesting looking each person can make them and enjoys the mythos of dragons collecting hoards of jewels. Even the whole Princess guarded by a dragon was interesting to her as a kid, even if she, as an adult, knows a girl doesn’t need rescuing 😉

Damocles likes dragons for a much simpler reason. Who doesn’t love a giant, fire-breathing, flying reptile? Out of all the big monsters out there in space, dragons are the one thing he can’t fight in person, but damn if he won’t try to find something like it!

24. Would bake a cake for a friend who is sad

I think I answered this not too long ago, but it’d have to be Cassia. She doesn’t like to see her friends upset by something and, if she knows they like sweets, she’ll bake them something special. Odds are she knows a whole lot about everyone he knows, so even if they don’t like cake, she’ll figure out something.

Who doesn’t like cake, though?

27. Loves children

This actually has quite a few answers with different explanations. Most of my OCs enjoy children to some degree, except maybe Saren and Arcanus, lol. Those two merely tolerate them until a special instance where they gain a very special relationship with a child 😉

Cassia loves all children no matter the relation or the parents. She can dislike a child’s parents, but could be getting dirty in the mud and playing tag with their children at the blink of an eye.

Ellie likes children that have some sort of connection to her. She initially had a bit of hesitance and worry over caring for the twins because she never saw herself as a mother, but some extranet research and time watching Jane and Garrus helped her to open up and relax with the kids. Stranger kids are still a bit of a turn off for her, but she loves kids from those she knows. She loves all the kids from the Normandy family.

Aeson is shy around kids, but if one is insistent enough and carries the conversation, Aeson will warm up. It’s not so much that it’s a child so much as he’s just a really shy and awkward guy. He’s the kind of guy to like kids, but when they give him their attention, he’s fumbling. He means well, though.

Damocles doesn’t like children except for the children of a very special family member. He’s like the awesome uncle and treats them like they can do no wrong. Hell, he likes them so much he actually finds it in himself to tolerate their dad more. I won’t outright explain, but there are those out there that know what I’m talking about 😉

Thanks for the asks!

You could hand wave something about gravity or mass effect fields if you wanted to have slightly smaller flying turians

Well, I’m actually not going into mass effect fields in Fibonacci because I’m going a fantasy/medieval field, but I think I may have come across wrong in my post.

I actually have no problem giving turians huge wings.

In fact, I actually really like the idea. In Fibonacci, I want to make these species different from each other in a way the games didn’t allow. Culture didn’t seem to be a huge conglomerate, but instead a kind of bland uniformity. Sure, there were characters that told us about the differences, but if you looked at the interactions of NPCs in particular, everyone was the same. Hell, even if you took into consideration the different body shapes of turians compared to others, the fashion was all the same. Even if it is the future, I doubt every species would have such a similar design for everyone.

I know, I know, it was aesthetic, but I hope to have differences at least in the worldbuilding doc for Fibonacci.

Speaking of, I’m highly considering releasing the doc to the public as a sort of unofficial wiki for fans. But I don’t even though if that is something people would want so I keep it private for now with the occasional share 🙂

Thanks for the ideas, though! I appreciate when others help with problem solving ideas because sometimes it’s difficult just talking to yourself 😀

I don’t think too many people think about it, but Garrus is ambidextrous when it comes to sniping. In his Homeworlds comic, he uses his opposite shoulder than the games during his gun training with his father. Even if they weren’t thinking about that at the development of the comic though, it’s become a HC for me 🙂

Hola and happy Wednesday. So, winged Turians, eh? :) I see in my mind’s eye a cold and sparkling aerie with spikes and spires, and other things starting with spi- (not spiders). Er, hmm, cold? Well, that might not work, unless feathers=insulation, so, maybe? Oh yeah, and Turian Town’ll be sexy, too, of course. There! Now you can see why I am a master of world building, not. Stuff I make up is limited to OCs and est. char fleshing out, but it keeps me sane. Have a good one!

Hey, any kind of imagining is good imagining! I admit I didn’t share the Fibonacci Wiki’s (yes, I’m thinking of it as my unpublished, personal wiki, lol) entry on turians. Seeing as how they are different than canon by a lot, I guess I should have! 😀

Palaven is a very rocky dessert, made of massive cliff faces and deep canyons. Turians have built their homes and cities along the sides of these cliffs and, as result, evolved with wings. Since joining the rest of Eros as a united kingdom, they have built structures for those races without wings, but they settlements are all built into turian-made caverns dug into the sheer cliff faces. I have a picture, but I’ll need to reverse Google search as it’s a person’s art and I would like to give proper credit if I’m sharing it publicly.

Also, their wings are actually more akin to bats (or *cough* dragons) and are quite massive. Again, I have a picture, but I would need to find the artist before sharing.

Thanks for the guessing and ideas, though! I love hearing what readers and such have to say ❤️

So I’ve been doing the math on my winged Fibonacci turians, using flying dinosaurs in particular.

These guys are going to be huge just to be able to carry their weight, but honestly? I can’t find a reason to complain. You know me, I love my size differences 😉

So the average turian height (without including the height that their folded wings add) is around 7 ft, give or take.

Their weight (wings included) would be around 250lbs and 275lbs (~113 – 125kg)

That would mean that a wingspan – and I’m even fudging the math because that kind of weight would need a hell of a lot more length to the wings – is going to be about 32 – 35′ (~10 – 11m).

Whoa…

Although … I’m kinda digging it.

Hola! And good news about the world building. Hopefully this also means that you are feeling few ill effects from last week and are having some happy times. I am just grateful that something in which I am so interested, and that gives me happiness (er, your writing, that is), is good for you. :) Keep resting and recouping!

Thank you so much, anon. Really ❤️

I think I’m going to refer to you as the Fibo Anon 🙂

I love hearing from you and having some support in the huge project Fibonacci is becoming, so thank you for these little asks you send in. And also the comment you left on the fic itself! I haven’t gotten to replying yet, but I greatly appreciate it.

And my recovery is going as well as you’d expect. I’m sore and had a reaction to the adhesive from the surgery, but I’m taking meds for both. Good news is the pathology had no bad results and my doctor said that ultimately, this was a good decision to help with my endometriosis because the state of my reproductive organs wouldn’t have ever allowed me to have children. I don’t mind that because I’m not really in the mindset to want children of my own, so relief of the pain means more to me.

Sorry to ramble, anon, but thank you again for checking up on me!
