Does the twins love their Kunkle?

Well, Cassia does no doubt, but things have changed for Damocles. He used to train with his biotics with Arcanus nearly everyday and it was like bonding time. However, when Saren came around, Arcanus stopped training with Damocles. That, and Saren earned jobs on his own immediately where Damocles and his sister are still looked at as kids who need experience out on the field still before they can be separate for a job. Damocles hates the double standard Arcanus holds him to (Arcanus because he’s the one actually handing out jobs that Jane and Garrus look over and approve) and hates Saren because things were just handed to him where Damo has to work for it, is still working for it.

Damocles may come to not longer hate Arcanus for how he’s treated him (a kid who looked up to his kunkle in hopes to finally be strong enough to impress him) but he’ll never see him as ‘kunkle’ ever again.

Fibonacci: what do Turians think of the wingless species? Nocturni: what is one of Garrus’ quirks/habits that become more prominent after he transitions into a Nocturni? Is Nihlus going to actually get paid back for all the stuff he’s invested on Garrus? Jk jk Parable: Does Cassia have intimate secrets not even Saren knows about? Hope you’re feeling better. Stay strong Squid!

Thanks for the kind words. It means a lot to know I haven’t lost people around here because I’m not putting out any writing.

Fibonacci – What do turians think of the wingless species?

I think you mean in their own reality? If so, they sort of wonder how the other species manage. Their wings are so engraved into their lives that not having them would be like losing something after living your life with a sense or limb. Sure, for us we can manage without limbs or senses, but in their reality, it makes a huge impact, makes them change how they go about their day to day living. In fact, removing a turian’s wings is a capital punishment akin to death. Hell, sometimes death is seen as too good for the crime and they rather cut off a tuian’s wings and make them live a life without the sky. With how wings also influence some of their views of the afterlife, it also means the punishment follows them through death.

Nocturni – What is one of Garrus’ quirks/habits that become more prominent after he transitions into a Nocturni?

A habit Garrus used to have was being a bit vain. He took great pride in his looks and always wanted to be aware of his appearance. Now, however, it’s the opposite side of the spectrum. He cares about his looks because he sees himself as ugly and just wants something for his appearance to seem normal. He once wanted to look better than average and now he just wants to fit in, and he usually tries to preen and look as good as he can.

Is Nihlus going to actually get paid back for all the stuff he’s invested on Garrus?

Haha. Actually, Garrus has paid Nihlus for the deposit on his armor and clothes, then the rest of the amount when it was complete. So I wouldn’t really say he owes Nihlus that much. lol

Parable – Does Cassia have intimate secrets not even Saren knows about?

Hm … Not that I can think of. Once she gets to the point where she doesn’t think she’d scare him off by confessing her feelings, she is pretty open with him. Before, however, she kept the fact that she felt more for him than stress relief to herself for a very long time. Honestly, she’d probably have kept it to herself for the rest of her life if Saren hadn’t said something along the lines of her being important to him. That made her a bit more confident and she started to subtly test to see if what he was interpretting as ‘importance’ related to affection or something else.

An ask you say? (Warms up typing fingers – apologies in advance for the long ask): How long does Garrus continue to hold onto his distrust for Sidonis, particularly once they find out that their respective sons are a couple? Does it ever become an issue or do they generally steer clear of each other to make life easier? Do Damo/Aeson ever have to step in and diffuse a situation, and do they ever discuss what happened between their dads?

Not long at all! In fact, I really enjoy long asks 🙂

How does Garrus continue to hold onto his distrust for Sidonis, particularly once they find out that their respective sons are a couple?

Garrus is a bit more tolerant of Sidonis ever since the end of the war where he kept Aria from killing Sidonis. He still wouldn’t trust Sidonis as explicitly as he once did and would never allow his children to rely on Sidonis, but they’re all lucky in that aspect because Sidonis has taken to life planetside.

As for his views of Aeson, he has no ill feelings towards the kid, just his father. Garrus doesn’t blame Aeson for any of his father’s failings and doesn’t hold it against him. Admittedly, his own life as a father, he knows what it’d be like to have his child held accountable to his own doing, so he uses that concept to treat Aeson right.

Does it ever become an issue or do they generally steer clear of each other to make life easier?

On principle, Sidonis tends to steer clear of Garrus. He’s considered part of the Normandy family, sure, but there will always be that bit of Archangel in there judging the turian. Whenever there are gatherings, you won’t see the two together, but when it comes to close family when the children grow into adults and the two dads have to be together, Sidonis usually cows to Garrus. Sidonis wants to avoid conflict at any cost, so it usually leads to him and Garrus pointedly ignoring one another. It’s actually pretty ridiculous.

Do Damocles/Aeson ever have to step in and diffuse a situation, and do they ever discuss what happened between their dads?

Again, Sidonis tries to stay away from conflict. If anyone is going to step into the way of anything between them, it’ll be Jane getting after Garrus, not the kids. Damocles knows his mother has more sway with his dad, so he mostly gears himself up for any time he needs to back Aeson against anything.

They have talked about it. Damocles shares his dad’s view of not judging Aeson because, if anyone would know what it’s like to suffer prejudice, it’s Damo. Neither know exactly what happened and why, only what stories their parants have, so they can’t really say if anyone was to blame or if Garrus was right in his actions. Damocles does, however, respect Sidonis for accepting his guilt, wearing his scars, and, in a way, teaching Aeson not to do as he had done. Aeson doesn’t like what happened to his father because he both doesn’t like to see his father’s pain, but because he is against most violence. He doesn’t blame Garrus for an unjust punishment because, like I said, he doesn’t know what happened, but he does know that turians punish crimes like treason much differently than other species. It’s kinda like that thing where you know what happens with someone commits treason and know you should be impartial, but you don’t want to think about it being so close to home because you both love the person and don’t want to think of the violent act itself.

Fibonacci Asks: has prince Garrus ever been with a human before Jana? Since you’ve hinted at it, what does Jana think of Garrus’s wings and flying with him? Does Tali give prince Garrus any useful tips for wooing Jana?

Has Prince Garrus ever been with a human before Jana?

He has. It was a while ago and at one of his wild parties. He knows how humans work, but not specifics beyond what he’s heard murmured around friends and his men.

Since you’ve hinted at it, what does Jana think of Garrus’ wings and flying with him?

Jana is afraid of heights despite her career in a reality with spaceships and flying cars. It’s that whole thing of not having something around her to protect her and just being out in the open that scares her. At first, she thinks it’s really cool that he has something so different from anything in her reality, but she doesn’t immediately think ‘I want to know what it’s like to fly.’ When the time comes where he offers, they are close enough for her to trust him. She’s still afraid, but he’d never let her fall and she knows it.

Does Tali give Prince Garrus any useful tips for wooing Jana?

On a serious note, she does explain to Garrus a bit about Jana’s marriage and loss. She gives him a heads up as soon as she realizes Prince Garrus likes her because she really roots for him and Jana, but doesn’t want him going in blind when they could all die any minute. Now, when it comes time to actually wooing Jana, Garrus has come to Tali for tips on what would impress Jana more concerning foods, trinkets, etc.

Asks! Does Arcanus have a favorite color? Has Saren ever let Cassia “play” with one of his drones? Has Aeson ever cooked Damo a romantic dinner? What does Castis (papa Vakarian) think of Sol dating James?

Does Arcanus have a favorite color?

At first, no. He preferred to wear monochromatic clothing when he was in the military and not in uniforms or armor. Then, in the Blue Suns, he wore blue to show his command. Now he wears black for the Wraiths, but I’d have to say that being with Ellie has him loving her hazel eyes in particular. Turians don’t really have a coloring like that with different colors mixing, so he finds it very interesting. He even gave his son hazel eyes to match and show her how much he treasures what makes her unique.

Has Saren ever let Cassia ‘play’ with one of his drones?

I think I’m being dense because I don’t know what the quotes are implying, lol. As for just messing around with them, not really. She knows he values his hard work constantly upgrading his drones that she doesn’t want to mess anthing up or make light of something he holds so important.

Has Aeson ever cooked Damo a romantic dinner?

Haha. His throat would blush bright blue if anyone ever asked him this. Yes, he has, but they never came out and said it. Aeson likes to bring Damocles food sometimes, whether it’s a fish he caught or something dextro they can share. He doesn’t know how to cook really fancy stuff, but Damocles isn’t picky and thanaks him for whatever gift of food Aeson gives him.

What does Castis (papa Vakarian) think of Sol dating James?

Honestly, unlike Garrus, Solana can do no wrong. Castis likes to say he’s learning to get over that favoritism, but it’s a hard habit to break. Plus, Garrus is already bonded to a human, so it isn’t too difficult for him to get used to the idea. The fact that James is still in the military and doing well under orders also helps because Jane being a Spectre and always going against superiors was what really bothered Castis because it was a bad influence on his son.

Actually, I hadn’t planned to write Jane and Garrus after Juxtaposed. I thought no one would be interested in reading the games through my writing. When I did start to write Genesis, I was introduced to the idea by a friend and hadn’t thought too much about it. I’m actually not a kid person at all and really didn’t imagine Jane and Garrus having any. Although, the thought of baby turians appealed more to me, so maybe it’s just human babies I don’t like, lol

Towards the end of Genesis, I started to think about how I could go about it. I’m only a fan of hybrids when it’s done in a reasonable way. Some hybrids I’ve seen are frightening and I didn’t want that, so I delved into science for help. Once I found some concepts, I went the easy way and said ‘hey, it’s Reaper tech!’ And of course the only way for there to be Reaper tech involved would be Cerberus.

I’m sure some of my science is a bit twisted to suit my needs despite my try to be believable, but I’m happy I appealed to the crazy, unrealistic idea of hybrids. Damocles and Cassia are important to me and I feel like they really are my babies, one of a kind. (Well, two, but whatever)

For Nocturni, will we ever get Nihlus’s full backstory?

Hm … I can say that, yes, we will, but I don’t know if it would come out completely in this part or the second (I’m hoping to have a second part where they leave Omega for more Nocturni alongside Saren and others) He will mention some things to Garrus and Jai, though, but maybe not everything. Some things he doesn’t see as that important and probably wouldn’t expect them to care about. But I can hint that there will be someone in the second part that would be happy to know every tiny detail about their boo 😉

Does Ellie blink or wink?

I don’t think I understand this question. If there’s some kind of meme going around about it, I’m out of the loop.

Ellie can blink and wink. Usually she winked at the twins when they were in on a joke. She doesn’t do it so much with adults, but it’s a fun thing when playing with children to act conspiratorial together.

Some Fibonacci Jana Shepard Feels

So those who know Fibonacci know Jana loses the Garrus – her husband – in her universe and it hits her hard. I was listening to music today and figured you could all do with some feels about it.

And it feels, and it feels like

Heaven’s so far away

And it feels, yeah, it feels like

The world has grown cold, now that you’ve gone away

If it’s okay 😓to ask five facts about my two favorite pretty ladies Jane and Ellie (lol Jellie or Ellane)

Ellie

1. She doesn’t like the taste of coffee (hates it, in fact) and instead drinks Earl Grey tea. Sometimes she drinks it straight most times, but she’s used milk before.

2. Besides a short relationship in her young adulthood, she was too focused on work for a love life until Arcanus.

3. Her parents passed away when she was still with the Alliance and though she was on speaking terms with them, she feels like she kept too much of her life from them due to her position in espionage. She feels regret over having a job that came between them, but little does she know her parents never made as big a deal about it as she thought.

4. After so long wearing kinds of stealth suits and armor, she takes full advantage of her off hours wearing dresses and fancy clothes. Arcanus don’t bat an eye when she has her eye on something and often gifts her these expensive clothes despite her protests of him speeding the credits.

5. Ellie is a fan of romance novels, television, and movies, but more along the lines of historical romances like Gone With the Wind, Casablanca, etc.

Jane

1. Jane has had a deep heart to heart with Damocles concerning his birth. He thought it was selfish of her to go through with having him knowing he’d have a hard life, but she explained that isn’t better to be wanted and loved than unwanted like she was. The talk was a pivotal point in their relationship and has made them closer.

2. Jane doesn’t actually have a license. She learned to drive in the Alliance and it shows.

3. She loves horror movies, books, and television, but is very picky. She doesn’t find jump scares all that interesting and would rather watch something that makes you think and leaves a lasting impression.

4. Jane takes a lot of fashion ideas from the classic 50s and pinup styles.

5. She was born in Texas.
