Hola. Hope all is well with you in non-Mass Effect land-keeping warm/dry/healthy. I’m still sub-optimal so being quiet, but want to chime in a bit about Nocturni. Re: reaper-ed baddies, maybe something like the Brutes. Power/size wouldn’t need the krogan element; could be all ‘turian’. Also enjoying the tidbits you’re posting about your OCs, thank you very much. I’d request Jana; I’ve never managed to play or write about a renegade, so your work is interesting/valuable to me. Please take care.

I’m sorry you’re not feeling 100% but thank you for leaving me an ask. It means a lot 🙂

Reaper Nocturni is such a scary idea, haha. I’m quite evil for thinking of it. I mean, the things would be near unstoppable and worse than Banshee’s. I dare say it might turn the war in favor of the Reapers.

I wouldn’t say Jana is too too renegade. Parable is more on the renegade scale whereas Jana is just plain given up. She was a happy person and paragon before she lost her Garrus. She’s lost her will to fight and knows she should feel regret for not playing her part in the war, but she sees the change in realms as a way to make up for it. She wants to do something her Garrus would be proud of and tries in Fibonacci.

Thanks for the ask, anon! ❤️

🖊 for Damocles and Saren?

Damocles: He’s known to self harm. It’s not as bad know that he has an outlet in combat, but there are scars beneath his tattoos.

Bonus: He fights in very close quarters in battle, relying on his biotics and skill in hand to hand. His fighting style is very brutish, but despite what most think, he has perfect control of himself. He’s like a krogan in blood rage, but without the mindless charging.

Saren: By introduction from Cassia, Saren knows how to paint. His art is very minimalist and focuses on geometric designs and monochromatic colors. Not many know he can paint because he only does it in the privacy of him home when he cannot work for any reason (usually Cassia forcing him to stop).

Bonus: His drone VI is highly adaptive and is often confused for an AI in how quickly and efficiently it can alter its combat without constant direct input from Saren. He doesn’t have a name for it, but Cassia is currently thinking of one 😉 (Damocles just calls it ‘useless piece of shit’ but that doesn’t count).

🖊️ + any Umbrus Nocturni OC’s – if you have any/or can talk about them without major spoilers for the fic ;)

I have three main ones that come to mind, Cydian and her two firstborns.

Cydian looks very young despite her actual age. Someone would believe she’s in her early thirties. All she wants is a family (a possibility taken from her when she was infected) and she sees herself going to Omega as going to a place to give people a real life instead of barely scraping by. She truly believes she’s helping people by making them Nocturni and treating them like her family. She also understands that she shouldn’t create more Nocturni than she can feed, so she’s very picky with who she turns. She also never infects real children, preferring to let them live through their innocent years before she turns them as adults.

Desdemonus is one of her first borns. He’s a big guy even for a Nocturni and many think he’s just the dumb brute. He’s actually very intelligent and very loyal to Cydian. He has a good number of body modifications, from piercings on his face to a tattoo design that covers his right arm, chest, and part of his back. It’s design is of a Hierarchy ship burning and crashing from space and it was initially a means of remembering the violent way his parents died when he was a child. When Cydian found him, he was a smuggler who had the bad enough luck to find himself stuck on the colony when it was attacked. He looks older than Cydian.

Her other first born is Asmodeus. He is very unstable and has been from the beginning. He could be considered Cydian’s ‘trouble child’ but she loves him just as much as she does Desdemonus. Asmodeus is lanky for his build and bears a long scare across his throat. When the colony was attacked, he was imprisoned for assault and suspicion of committing more dangerous crimes and, when the Nocturni came to him to kill him, he fought tooth and nail like a wild animal. He was left for dead when Cydian found him and gave him a chance to live. He of course took it and has been loyal to her ever since. He looks younger than Cydian.

Despite the tiffs between Desdemonus and Asmodeus, they are both fiercely loyal to Cydian. They would die for her and truly treat her like a mother figure while she treats them like her sons.

Thanks for the ask! It was really fun!

TMI Asks! Nocturni: given the dramatic size differences, any specific positions Jai and Garrus enjoy during sexy times? Fibonacci: what does prince Garrus think of Jana’s lady bits? Does he enjoy oral?

Nocturni: Hm … I haven’t covered any yet, but they like her on top, spooning, and front to back in various positions. They can’t perform complete missionary but they can alter positions and come as close as you’d expect without him shoving his chest in her face, lol

Fibonacci: Garrus has had sex with other races, so he’s not new to it. He definitely enjoys going down on Jana and tasting her to the point she’s a writhing mess, and he definitely likes it when she grips onto his fringe when he’s down there. As for her looks, well, he’s not really one to compare or look too deeply at a woman’s vag, haha

Jai and Garrus: any specific bedroom kinks, once they’ve reached that point? Anything that immediately gets the other going?

Haha. One really big one that isn’t too common is they really like biting. Jai can’t break his hide (though if she really tried, she’d come back with a gross taste of Nocturni blood) but she actually really enjoys when he does. Nocturni saliva is an anticoagulant while wet and a clotting agent when drying, so they don’t have to worry about her bleeding out after the fact. Also, it’s a bit numbing, so it actually feels pretty good. Plus, who wouldn’t love that rough tongue? Lol.

To get them going besides that? Jai just loves the way he looks even though he doesn’t. He gives her a feeling of intimidation, but she knows the real him and how caring he is. Kinda like she has control of the beast when no one else does.

Garrus enjoys the way she tastes (and not just her blood) and smells. His senses are heightened so he picks up on her a lot better than normal turians. That, and he enjoys the way he can make her make all kinds of sounds 😉

What is Garrus’s fear for his Jane? What is Arcanus’ fear for his Ellie?

Well, they both have the ultimate fear of losing their mates, but individually, Garrus fears Jane losing herself to her PTSD and Arcanus never wants Ellie to come to the point where she feels unwanted or unloved.

Jane has really bad nightmares still even after so long and Garrus doesn’t want her to just give up. She’s admitted it before that she just wants it all to stop and he fears the day she comes to the conclusion that it’s better to be done with it all.

Arcanus knows Ellie’s lived a long life if not having people she could trust enough to show her true self to. Working so long in espionage, she couldn’t put down roots and the one time she got close, she had to betray the man she loves. Arcanus doesn’t want her to withdraw into herself once more because she feels like she’s playing a part to get closer to people so she can betray them.

Director’s Commentary! Nocturni chapter 6 please (aka the transformation).

I am ecstatic that someone asked for this chapter. It has got to be my most favorite scene to write so far for any of my fics. Weird, I know, but I just loved the overall ick about the transformation.

I wanted the transformation to be painful. I mean, think about it, your entire body is pretty much doubling in size almost. And in such a quick amount of time? It has to be painful and a bit gruesome on top of that.

I took a hell of a lot of inspiration from The Thing. If you know me, you know I love horror transformations and The Thing is like gold to me. One scene in particular is pretty much exactly mirrored in the Chapter and if you remember the movie, you’d recognize it. It’s the scene where Dr Copper goes to defib Norris and Norris’ chest splits into a gruesome mouth and bites Copper’s arms off. Boy if I didn’t do at least some of that I’d be sorry, so that’s where we get Garrus’ chest caving in under Jai’s hands, haha.

I admit I love that scene way more than I probably should. Not just because I can give Jai quite the scare or put Garrus through the torturous process, but just because I’m crazy for the trope. I’m weird but, eh, I had to do it for a dark fic like this. I mean, vampires should have horror with them, so what’s more horrific?

And if you’re weird like me about transformations, I give you this:

Being in a senior age, is Arcanus healthy? He may be the boss of the B.W. But I like to think he acts like a Primarch in Virmire.

Hahah. He does act pretty high and mighty. Garrus and Jane share ownership of the Wraiths, but they’re fine with him taking the lead on it. They’d much rather he do all the boring things that comes with owning a merc company. Besides, he has experience with it where they don’t.

Senior age? Oh boy, don’t let him hear you! Lol

Given the 150 yr life span, Arcanus isn’t all that old considering. He’s about ten years older than Jane and Garrus, give or take, so he’s not too up there. Plus, he keeps a good handle on his health, so he’s far from stepping down from his busy life. He won’t really be in too many battles however because he just prefers to work behind the scenes, but it doesn’t mean he can’t step up to the plate whenever he has to take charge.
