2. What is one of your character’s biggest insecurities? Are they able to hide it easily or can others easily exploit this weakness?

Garrus

Now that he’s changed, Garrus’ big insecurity is what he is now. He sees himself as a monster both visually and because he has to lower himself to eating like an animal to survive and keep people safe. Even something as simple as getting clothes is going to involve special ordering and a few looks, so he takes that to heart. Before all this, he was what most would refer to as ‘baby faced’ so to suddenly become a huge, hulking and intimidating Nocturni is a huge hit to his confidence. Plus, I’m pretty sure I’d be pretty damn upset if I suddenly had my body change like his has.

When people look at your character, is there some assumption they might make about them just by appearance? Is that assumption correct?

Jai

Jai is albino and about 5′3″, so many might think she’s too delicate to be on Omega. However, she was a soldier with the Alliance, so she knows how to fight and, as a medic, knows how to tend to battlefield injuries. On the other hand, some might consider her as the Butcher of Torfan, but she’s not the ‘White Devil’ that those who know her history would call her. Her past haunts her, as we all know, and she’s hoping spending her years helping people on Omega could help cleanse her soul. However, I can’t completely answer the rest of this question because of plot secrets. 😉

What is something that your character has nightmares about? Are these frequent? Do they heavily affect your character’s mood?

Jimmu

I wouldn’t really say Jimmu has nightmares? He’s one of the stronger characters in this fic, offering an ever-constant support for Jai when her mind betrays her. She can affect his moods and he often gets irritable when she’s not having a good day, but he usually provides that strength needed. He really is a good doggo.

What are their favorite traits about their lover? (one psychological and one physical)

Aeson

Aeson likes how Damocles stands up for him, even if Aeson really wishes he didn’t stress out so much about the little stuff. Damocles is like the superheroes they read about as kids, always standing up to the bullies and using what he learned in training to help others instead of just pushing people around.

Physically? Aeson loves the way Damocles looks. He’s a huge guy, especially compared to short little Aeson, and the tattoos are so beautiful and he loves to trace them with his fingers (and mouth ;)). Damocles has a very distinct body shape with his more human sized muscles. He’s big and bulky where all other turians, no matter their efforts, never get to that point. That uniqueness is so much like Damocles and Aeson really likes being able to have the big guy at his side, glaring at people and pounding his fists at the ready for a fight, lol.

Now, Damocles really envies how Aeson can ignore all the things people say and do to him. Damocles has such thin skin, but Aeson puts up with so much. Aeson doesn’t see the point getting upset and really only get bothered when those around him start to insult people he cares about. People can tease him because of his father’s scars and their meaning, and the worse Aeson will feel is bad for his dad because he thinks his father has paid enough not to have some strangers judge him. Even his fellow fishermen tease him because he’s the only turian brave enough to get out on the water, but he doesn’t mind it, even when they mess with his things and make his job more difficult.

Aeson’s gold coloring is beautiful to Damocles, like a precious metal. When they are actually together and openly touching, he loves to compare his silver to Aeson’s gold. He also loves the way the light shines on Aeson and makes him seem to glow, and since Aeson works out in the sun all the time, he gets to see that glistening gold everyday.

Is there a catchphrase or sound that they tend to make a lot (likely without being aware of it)?

Aeson

Aeson catches himself purring quite a lot around Damocles because of his affection. He usually stops the sound before too late, but it makes him have an odd sort of happy rumbling that Damocles thinks is just unique to Aeson. He just thinks his friend is such a happy guy, but he’s pretty dense over the sound otherwise.

Damocles

Haha. Damocles growls a lot or says ‘fuck’ more than he should.

Does your OC have any guilty pleasures they enjoy? Hobbies, past times, music, etc that they wouldn’t want known by others?

Aeson

These two don’t really keep anything from each other because of just how close of friends they are. I think in the beginning, Aeson was embarrassed to let anyone know how much he stares at Damocles and admires him but that resolves itself once they’re open with each other.

However, I’d have to say that he actually enjoys fishing despite the dangers. The danger is actually what appeals to him. Even if he wasn’t being paid for it, he’d be out there on the water, but not too many people know that. He’s afraid of people knowing that and thinking he’s got a few loose, but Damocles has pretty much guessed it. Damocles is really the only one Aeson will let call him crazy because he knows Damocles is just as into danger, so he won’t force Aeson to stop.

Hm … Back before he had tattoos, Damocles used to self-mutilate. He hated himself, but the pain was like a release and thus became like a drug. Feel bad? Go to your room and give yourself a nice long cut, then slap some medigel on before going back out. It was something to go with his binding. However, getting tattoos actually seemed to help that. Instead of going for the sting of cutting himself, he could get the sting of a fresh tattoos and then he had a pretty image he wouldn’t want to damage. Sure, he still bound and worked himself harder in physical training, but it slowly eased him out of cutting because he found other ways to

If your character confessed love to their crush, boyfriend, girlfriend, etc, what would they say?

Aeson

I can’t say exactly how it happens with these two because it’s part of the fic (when I get through this damn slow burning), but I can say how it could have happened if life had kept going as it was before the big baddie in Efflux.

Poor Aeson would actually fumble around saying it. He’d show it more than tell, actually. He has been already with giving Damocles meals or being an ear for whenever Damocles needs to vent his frustrations. I don’t think he could ever really come to plan out how to tell Damocles he loves him, it’d just happen. It’s not that he doesn’t, just that he’s so shy and awkward about it. Damocles is like his hero since they were kids, so it’s a big thing to just come out and say for him.

Funny enough, I had an idea for this that I probably won’t use. It had to deal with them during an afterglow.

Sex for them is open because they don’t expect to always be together. Damocles goes off-planet for work and Aeson is always on Virmire for his fishing, but they don’t want to have to force the other have to wait to relieve stress until they meet again. They can have sex while apart because they both know it means nothing and they’ve sometimes had threesomes or moresomes with others while together, but they usually stick together just because it’s comfortable. Damocles can be himself with Aeson and sometimes that’s better than having sex with lots of strangers (or half-strangers). More doesn’t always mean better and I had had an idea that during the lazy moments afterwards, Aeson would be nibbling and licking Damocles’ neck. Damocles, out of nowhere, would just be like ‘wanna do it?’ about bonding and viola, they would come to realize that, hey, that’s not a crazy idea, why haven’t we thought about this? They’re practically lovers anyways, so bonding just comes as a spur of the moment thing. I’m skimming this idea, of course, and might not even do it in the end, but that’s how these guys are, pretty oblivious despite being attached at the hip already.

Is there something traumatic from your character’s past that greatly affects them even to this day?

Hm … I can’t say too much about this without it being a minor spoiler. Basically, there’s a reason he was so willing to believe Saren when he was told about Umbrus Nocturni and it has to do with his parents. It also has a partial connection to the First Contact War too. I can’t say much else 😉
