I was tagged by @mosaiccreme and I tag @wafflesrock16 , @cousinslavellan , @saphistar and @theravenofwynter but only if you want to!

I’m not currently working on a fic chapter, but I am doing some Fibonacci world building so I’ll share some of that 😀

Some info on the batarians

Political power is held by those with the most gold

  • An emperor gains power with gold and often violence
  • Emperors can have advisors, but have final word
  • Overseers of larger settlements have control unless emperor steps in

Combat

  • While most settlements are often in competition, fear of punishment keeps all batarians under imperial control in times of war
  • If the emperor is not skilled at military strategy, a trusted general will be chosen

Hola! Yes, I want some Fibonacci worldbuilding! Many thanks. Being privileged to read these makes me optimistic about all the flapping banner loose ends of all my fics…:P I just can’t seem to get myself together enough to create a coherent story; I have a well over 162 page DA:I story that is a collection of scenes with no flow and some repetition d/t changing PoV. Anyway thank you for continuing to inspire and encourage. Have a good weekend.

Thank you! I’m so honored to be helping you with your own work!

I admit I don’t know much about Dragon Age, actually, so any similarities are purely coincidental. In fact, I’m going mostly from overall medieval history as well as getting inspiration from videogames like The Elder Scrolls, The Witcher, and even Mass Effect itself all while trying not to directly copy them. I know I’m probably putting way too much work into this than will actually probably make it into the fic, but it’s actually pretty fun!

But as for putting a fic together, I really get you, man. Sometimes our brains just want to throw ideas at us without telling us how to put them together. It’s really annoying, brains!

Thank you again for the lovely message, anon. It really made my otherwise kinda depressing day. ❤

Want some Fibonacci world building? No? Too bad! Here it is!

Asari – The Magician

Appearance

  • Average height is 6ft
  • Facial markings follow genetic,  familial patterns, but some asari can add tattooed patterns

Attire:

  • Usually wears long, flowing, and sometimes sheer clothing
  • Not uncommon for clothing to have cut outs or reveal more skin than other peoples
  • Often use vivid colors
  • Outfits with pants still tend to include cut outs in the fabric as well and can be more form fitting for maneuverability
  • Priestesses and acolytes tend to have more intricate garb often with jewels
  • It is not uncommon for them to walk barefoot
  • Those in the Lesuss Monastery (ardat-yakshi) tend to wear hoods and may use more neutral or dark colors

Armor

  • Light armor is the preferred choice and can sometimes include a sash or cloak
  • Justicars wear gold armor with the helmet’s face plate designed after a asari face

Asari
are spiritual, following the teachings of the Goddess, Athame (Goddess
of prophecy and fate that teaches mathematics and medicine) and her
guides, Janiri (agriculture) and Lucen (the stars)

  • They also believe in a unified whole of all peoples of one creation
  • Death leads to their spirit becoming one with Alysim
  • Temples often incorporate water, some even built around rivers themselves
  • Celebrate
the springtime fertility ritual Janiris which marks the start of the
new year. During this time, they create wreaths of flowers and
distribute them among their friends and loved ones
  • Justicars are religious warriors, believed to follow a code designed by Athame herself

There is no set political structure as asari are in constant communication throughout Thessia

  • Average citizens often develop thought alone before sending a representative to speak with a priestess
  • The priestess then speaks to (or can be circumvented altogether) the Matriarch responsible for playing the region’s representative
  • If need be, Matriarchs (or High Priestesses where Matriarchs are not available) then discuss the matter and come to a decision
  • This decision can always been protested by citizens and undergo another process

The Councilor is anyone willing to accept the responsibility, usually volunteering herself

  • There is then a vote among anyone wanting to decide on the issue
  • The current Councilor is a High Priestess

When complimenting a writer’s characters, don’t compare them to others and drag one through the dirt. Compared to Character A, Character B is more beautiful is not a way to compliment the characters someone puts a lot of work into.

Autumnal asks – maple, orchard and cinnamon?

maple – is there a hobby / skill that you’ve always wanted to try but never did?

I’ve always wanted to be able to go hiking, but I hate the outdoors so that’s kinda a big deal, lol. I don’t know why, but I thought maybe getting up to a good spot, I could see some the best scenery. I can’t hike now because of health problems, but I can imagine!

orchard – share one thing that you’d like to happen this autumn.

I answered this here! 😀

cinnamon – if you had to live in a time period different than the present, which would you choose and where?

Hm … Can we ignore the whole black plague? Because I wouldn’t mind seeing what it was like during the renaissance in Italy. However, I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t get to really enjoy it with the whole ‘being a woman’ thing. I’d probably miss out on a lot.

Is it cheating to say I want to go into the future to us finding life on other planets? Because I wouldn’t say no to the possibility of doing some very unbecoming things to some aliens.

Jokes aside, thanks for the asks!

Hello Squigglysquid! May I know about Cider, ochard, and fireside, please? ^ ^

cider – a food that you disliked as a child but now enjoy?

I actually didn’t like a whole lot of beef as a kid, but I don’t know why. I just didn’t like it. Now I don’t have a problem with it and actually really like a good steak. I don’t know, I was a weird kid, lol

orchard – share one thing that you’d like to happen this autumn.

Getting a bit personal here, but I’d like to know what my damn endometriosis is going to decide to do, cooperate or rebel to the point where I’m getting rid of my damn uterus. I don’t mind having to, but I’d like to hurry up and know after six months of hormones shots -_-

fireside – if you had your dream wardrobe, what would it look like?

Haha. I love 50s clothes and styles, but that takes a lot of work. For one, I have no idea how to fix my hair and two, I can’t put makeup on to save my life. Those are huge things in 50s fashion, so I guess I’ll admire from afar, lol.

Thanks for the asks!

Lantern and crow for the autumn Asks!

lantern – how did you meet your best friend? What were your first impressions of each other?

I’m actually going to be cheesy, but my boyfriend is my best friend. He has been for a while. We met in high school in theater class when our teacher assigned us in a group to create a fake commercial. He actually thought I was just a stuck up white girl and I thought he was just another kid who was going to make fun of me for being white (I live in South Texas). We actually bonded over the scene and became friends outside of theater class. It all went up from there!

crow – which school subject do you wish you had an aptitude for?

Hm … I wish I was better at physics. I didn’t fail the class, but it was a struggle for me. Maybe the unhelpful teacher didn’t help, but I had a hard time enjoying the class because I couldn’t get my head wrapped around everything. Ironic that physics is one of the BF’s majors, lol

Thanks for the asks!
